FAQ
Hello,
I am Yanliang Wang from Neusoft in China.

I would like to install Cloudera Manager 3.7 Free Edition.
But when I installed cloudera-manager-installer.bin(version:3.7.5) in
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Tikanga, 64bit), I found
the following errors in
/var/log/cloudera-manager-installer/5.init-embedded-db.log.
============================================================================
server started
Looking for database client binary (psql)...
Looking for schema files in /usr/share/cmf/schema/postgresql...
Verifying that we can write to /etc/cloudera-scm-server Creating SCM
role 'scm'...
PostgreSQL Command: psql --host=localhost --port=7432
--dbname=postgres --user=cloudera-scm -v ON_ERROR_STOP=1 ... CREATE
ROLE scm LOGIN PASSWORD 'x4PlNnOPtH';
psql: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "cloudera-scm"
--> Error 2, giving up (use --force if you wish to ignore the error)
waiting for server to shut
down...............................................................
failed
pg_ctl: server does not shut down
Could not setup database, giving up
============================================================================
I could not figure out the reason.
Could you help me?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Yanliang Wang

    Hi Yanliang Wang ,

    Do you have selinux enabled by any chance? Try disabling it and then retrying.

    Also, please confirm that there were no postgres processes running
    before you start the installation.
