FAQ
Hi,

Does anyone know how to configure rollover policy for Impala daemon log
files being created in /var/log/impala

We need to have 10 backup indexes with 10 MB file size.

Thanks,
Ashish

    Hi Ashish,

Impala can do log rolling but not log rotation (i.e., it won't recycle
log files). If you are running CM, the option "Impala Daemon Max Log
Size" can be found in Impala's configuration page.
If you are not running CM you can do "impalad --help" to see all the
startup options. The one that affects log size is "-max_log_size".

Hope it helps! Let me know if you need further clarification.

    Cheers,

    Alex
