    Hi Alex -

Right now, we are targeting mid-April for GA. We plan on releasing the next
version of the beta (0.7) this week.

Thanks Ricky. Actually, yes - I have a question for you:
Are there any plans for automatic metadata refresh (without the need to
manually invoke refresh in impala-shell) in 1.0 GA?

    Cheers,
    - Alex.

No problem, let us know if you have any other questions. I forgot to
mention, the 0.7 release will contain support for the new hadoop optimized
columnar format (Parquet <http://parquet.github.com/>), we encourage
everyone to try it out once it's available.

    Hey Alex -

Unfortunately, I don't believe this will make it in for GA due to a few
other features we believe to be a higher priority. However, this is
something that is on the roadmap for the near future.

Quick correction, the Impala GA date is planned for the beginning of Q2.

    Hi Justin,

Is that earlier or later than mid-April? ;-)

    Thanks,

Any update on the 0.7 drop date? Still hoping to get it done today or

Cool, thanks for the update Marcel. We are preparing to re-run a battery of
performance tests once 0.7 comes out, to check the topN fix as well as
benchmark Parquet. We'll be happy to post some results to let you know what
    we've found.
