FAQ
I have tried to connect impala from oracle BI admin tools on Windows 7, but
can not import metadata from the impala source. I could see the impala
source, but can not get the table metadata within the oracle BI admin.
I followed the odbc instructions on the cloudera odbc web page and use the
MicroStrategy odbc connector for windows. Does anyone successfully use
impala as data source in OBIEE, please give me some help.

BTW, is there a plan for cloudera to provide a impala connector for OBIEE?
If so, and when? OBIEE is a very popular report/analyse tool, I think it
will be a big market if we can get it through.

Thanks Justin, can we expect this feature before the end of June? If not,
    we should seek other solution...

hi all, i tried it on my own, but now i am stuck when adding the odbc
    source.

the provided imapla odbc driver for microstrategy is only 32bit.

when i install it on my system and add it as a data source i can't see it
in the BI Administration tool, there are only 64bit odbc sources...

is there any 64bit odbc impala driver which i can use?

Jonas – as Justin mentioned earlier in the thread, best thing right now is
to ping your Oracle rep on access to a driver that's compatible with OBIEE
until we're able to provide access to a 64-bit driver.

    Thanks.

OBIEE uses their own driver to connect to CDH. With Oracle Business
Intelligence Foundation Suite 11g, Release 11.1.1.7.0, OBIEE can now
    connect to CDH through Hive:

Sorry for partner confidentiality reasons I cannot share information about
Impala integration. Please contact your Oracle representative as they may
be able at liberty to share more information about the OBIEE and Cloudera
    integration efforts.

    Thanks,
    Justin
