The recent uploads page doesn't rely on that file nor do the queries as
far as I am aware. However, the 'catalog search' is not the same as the
'cpan search' on the left side of the page; the cpan search is
comprehensive for some value of comprehensive.
Also, my mirror shows the modlist.long having been updated yesterday
morning. Perhaps you have a stale site or a cdrom?
