Johan Vromans: I second this. For a while I've tried to do something sensible with the registry requests, but failed due to lack of response in times where feedback was needed (i.e., with ambigous or dubious requests). So _I_ decided to leave the module registration for what it is and only handle user ID requests, most of which brian handles as well, he's just quicker than me :-). -- Johan
Abigail: So? Are you suggesting CPAN should cater to people who can't be bothered to read? How will they use the modules they download? Or should POD be written to cater to people who don't read, just skimp? Abigail
Adam Turoff: I am not saying anything about the entirety of CPAN. I am saying that insofar as the modules list and the CPAN homepage serve as indexes into CPAN, presuming that users will "read and click" paragraphs or even complete sentences leads to poor usability and frustrated users. I am not telling anyone how to design one page or another on CPAN. I am saying that presuming users will "read and click" is fraught with well-known problems. This isn't a value judgement that CPAN users are too dumb to read
