Have you looked at this
extension? https://github.com/spree/spree_related_products. The extension
allows you to dynamically create relationships between products.

I'm working on a spree store that has needs similar but different, relating
taxons to taxons and products within taxons to taxon groups. I looked at
explanding SpreeRelatedProducsts, but I wanted a more concrete connection
besides the Method Missing implementation. Therefore,
https://github.com/westonplatter/spree_better_relationships. *It's not
stable at all!* I'll be working on it over the next month. Hope it helps
you arrive at a great solution.

Hi all,
I am not sure if a question like this has been asked before on this forum
but I need help with some data modelling.

I cannot tell you too much about the requirements but think of it as
selling an item is made up of "ingredients" (a product of prototype 'Food'
has_many ingredients?). The application should allow a user to create a
list of ingredients (E.g. flour, eggs, milk, sugar, salt) previously (store
them in a table?) and associate these ingredients with the product as and
when they add a product to sell.

So does Spree allow us to create something like that? An omlette may have
eggs and salt, a cake may have flour, eggs, etc?

It seems I would have to add my own model and associations for this. Or
has this requirement been addressed before, perhaps in an extension? I gave
the example of food and ingredients, but the underlying requirement is I
should be able to add "many values of a kind" to a product and I need to
store these somewhere. I am not sure if I put this very clearly in words
but please feel free to ask :)

I would appreciate any kind of help on this.
