FAQ
I didn't realize I had an old instance of Eclipse on my machine that had
created ~/workspace. Once I pointed Geppetto to a new workspace it works
great and has already helped me to find some minor issues in my Puppet
modules. Thanks!!!

The org.eclipse.jst-pagedesigner.PageDesignerEditor is not part of the
Geppetto for sure.

I think you may have opened an old Eclipse workspace where The
PageDesignerEditor was being used and it left metadata about open files.
When you then
run Geppetto on the same workspace it tries to honor the remembered "open
files".

Create a new clean workspace (switch workspace in Geppetto, or select a
new clean one when starting) to ensure you are troubled by old metadata
from some arbitrary (old) Eclipse installation.

Alternatively, install Geppetto into the Eclipse IDE that has the
PageDesignerEditor also installed if you want to use both of them at the
same time.

Anyway, the problem is quite benign, you should not see the same problem
if you close down Geppetto and reopen (it will write new metadata as it
exists).
If you however then try to open that workspace with your Eclipse (that
expects to find references to open PageDesignerEditor) you will be
disappointed becaus they are no longer remembered, and instead you may see
similar errors about not being able to open puppet manifest editor :)

(so... use different workspaces)

Hope that helps.

I just learned about Geppetto and installed it for the first time on a
RHEL 6.3 machine.

When Geppetto starts I get a message in the start.xhtml pane that states:
Could not open the editor: No editor descriptor for id
org.eclipse.jst.pagedesigner.PageDesignerEditor

Does anybody have any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks! Thomas
