Is the target platform Android? If so you might want to look into the new go.mobile library. If you dont mind dealing with cgo and you already know GLES, then calling the C libraries directly might work for you too. I've done it on my raspberry pi with success.

Sri G: Hi, I'm working on a project that requires a beautiful UI. It consists of anti-aliased text with shadows, translucent images and playing of videos. The possibility of visualizations and other UI elements exist as well. The target device is similar to a tablet and has OpenGL ES 2.0 and 3.1 capabilities and I'll need to take advantage of them since we're displaying at 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution.
