FAQ
Are you sure of the syntax? I don't find that command in any of my
reference books. I am using Oracle 9.2.

Ron,

It sounds like an archivelog that it is expecting to find is not

there.

Try doing a Change archivelog all crosscheck; or now Change
archivelog all validate;

Then re-run the RMAN backup

I think you are cross checking the backup only

Subject: RMAN specification ERROR

I am getting the following message after an RMAN backup. No
Oracle or RMAN error code is returned.
"specification does not match any archive log in the recovery

catalog"

I am doing a crosscheck backup and a crosscheck copy.

Did I miss something?

Ron Smith
