FAQ
Rohit, Not sure what you mean by 'sync'. When you configure CM with
external authentication against AD, the credentials are validated at each
auth attempt. Yes, you can configure CM so that users in an AD security
group(s) that you specify are able to log in. Further, you can specify
which groups have general access to CM, and which have administrative
access to CM. There is no requirement that the CM server be joined to the
same domain - only that you provide an account that can bind to and search
AD.

Hi All

I want a user group of my AD to access Cloudera Manager.

I just want to confirm whether we can synchronize AD directly with CM 4.5
(if yes, then should we keep AD and CM on same domain?
ex- win8.mycompany.com , centos1.mycompany.com)

or

We need to sync AD and LDAP and then sync LDAP with CM 4.5.
Please reply.

Thanks & Regards
