Hash functions (Md5, murmur-32, etc...)
Jul 22, 2013 at 7:28 pm
Does Impala have any built-in hash functions like MD5, murmur-32, etc...?
The reason I am asking is because I wanted to perform an online sample of a
string column by taking its hash and mod'ing it by 64.
: No we don't have a hash function exposed as a buitin. I've filed https://issues.cloudera.org/browse/IMPALA-478 to get this added. You can maybe try using rand() as a workaround for now.
